Only two Acolytes process in with C (can be
short way or long way)
Aspereges as normal. Process in the short way
to the sacristy
Acolytes 3 & 4 take up their candles
Priest dons maniple and stole. Process to
sanctuary the long was as normal.
Mass
Choir should be singing the introit
while the clerical procession is coming into the church.
Acolyte 2 will lock gate behind the priest upon reentrance.
Acolytes 3 & 4 will pick up
candles for prayers at the foot of the altar. They remain standing.
C bows, Acolytes 3 & 4 turn
inwards toward C.
After prayers, C ascends, Acolytes 3
& 4 come together, bow, split, set candles down, extinguish
Acolyte 3 then crosses to the
credence side, reverencing when crossing the tabernacle with a slight bow. Acolyte
4 is standing on Epistle side step facing the back wall. Acolyte 3 stands
besides Acolyte 4.
After Introit, Acolytes 3 & 4
moves to Low Mass position.
The Kyrie Collect. Epistle
is sung.
Gradual Tract. Sit. When it’s time, C rises,
goes to middle. Acolytes 1 & 2 (behind) and Acolytes 3 & 4 (flank) come together.
Reverence with a small bow of the head.
Acolytes 3 & 4 go to credence
table. Cruets Acolyte 3 says Benedicite.
Acolytes 1 & 2 get the
thurible and boat while this is happening. They stand
on floor near door
Acolyte 3 moves missal
in the V to the Gospel side. Acolytes 3 & 4 light their torches and then bring them to
middle of the rug and wait for Acolytes 1 & 2.
Acolytes 1 & 2 ascend and
impose incense. Acolyte 1 says
‘BAY-nay-DEE-che-tay”, waits, says “Ah-men.”
Acolyte 1 with boat & Acolyte
2 with thurible walk the long way. They meet and stand behind Acolytes 3
& 4. Bow. Acolytes 3 & 4 go to Acolyte
place for the Gospel. Acolytes 1 & 2 stand
where MC and T stand in Roman Rite. Acolyte 2 gives Thurible to C, comes down
as usual. No Laus Tibi Christi or incensation after the Gospel is sung.
After the Gospel is over, Acolytes 3
& 4 bow, go to foot of altar leaving room for C. Acolyte 1 and Acolyte 4 stand on carpet behind where the
C will be.
C comes down. All reverence. Acolytes 3 & 4 place candles near angels, extinguishing them.
After Sermon, everyone comes back together in
the same formation bowing. C ascends.
Acolytes 3 & 4 immediately fetch
candles, light them return to
Low Mass position except remain standing. After the “Et Homo Factus
Est” of the choir, Acolytes 3 & 4 return candles, extinguish them, and
return to their Low Mass spots standing.
After the Oremus, Acolytes 1
& 2 grab the boat and Thurible.
C moves missal to Canon position. Uncovers
chalice.
Acolytes 1 & 2 bring
thurible and boat up. Impose incense. Acolyte 1 goes
down with boat and takes the long way to the middle of the rug but back
a bit. Someone, perhaps a Torch Bearer will move book
Acolyte 2 stays, escorts
C during incensation. Acolyte 2 Incenses the C after altar.
Acolytes 3 & 4 do lavabo
Acolyte 2 meets Acolyte 1 in the
middle of sanctuary, but back a bit.
Acolyte 4 grabs bells.
Acolytes 3 & 4 come to the middle, reverence, then go to their Low Mass
spots for the Orate Fratres.
At Sursuum Corda, Acolytes 3 & 4
turn inwards. *Bow at Gratias Agimus.*
With a single swing, Acolyte 2 incenses *Acolyte 4*
first, then *Acolyte 3* Then *Acolyte 1*. Then *5-8.*
Acolyte 2 then incenses the
people, and after that, stands by the sedilia.
Acolyte 1 opens gate.
Turns around, collects A5-8, and leads them off to get torches.
Acolyte 4 rings Sanctus
Bells. Acolytes 3 & 4 light
their torches, leave them there. Go back to their spot.
At Sanctus Acolyte 1 leads
5-8 in. They line up two on the Gospel side Low Mass steps. Two on Right.
Acolyte 2 by the sedilia,
allowing the TBs to pass. Once TBs are in position Acolyte 2 moves to
center.
Acolyte 1 fetches boat,
brings it to the carpet.
Acolytes 1 & 2 and imposes incense
in middle of sanctuary
Acolyte 4 rings bell at Hanc
Igitur. 3 signs of crosses (not hands over chalice.)
Acolyte 3 & Acolyte 4 ascend the
steps.
Bells as normal. It comes
quick since C says Words standing erect.
Acolyte 2 & Acolyte 1 kneel. Incenses the two Elevations
After Chalice consecration, Acolytes
1 & 2 return thurifer and boat, stay by door.
Acolytes 3 & 4 go back to their
Low Mass spots STANDING.
Pater Noster, then Agnus Dei
Acolyte 4 moves the bells back and
takes the patten.
Acolyte 3 to flip altar rail cloths
while Acolyte 4 is putting bells up.
Everyone lines up
A1-8 goes up, receives the Holy
Communion. Acolyte 3 distributes Holy Communion with C.
TB on end will peel away and take their
torches down for distribution of Holy Communion.
Acolyte 1 leads TBs out
when the tabernacle door locks the torch bearers
Acolyte 4 brings up water and wine.
Acolyte 3 moves the Missal from
Gospel side to Epistle during ablution the long way, waiting
till the ablution is finished. Then walks straight up the short way. Walks
back to Low Mass spot.
C sings the Ite Missa Est/Benedicamus Dominio.
(may need intonation card.)
Every remains standing and bows for the Final
Blessing.
Last Gospel.
Acolytes 3 & 4 get the torches
and form up at their Low Mass spot to process out.
Acolytes 1 & 2 are all the
way in the back by the altar rails as they are the first ones out. 5-8 are in
between. Genuflect this time.
